Taking the BoilerMate Sol, for solar thermal, this unit provides mains pressure hot water and links into the central / under-floor heating system as well as a conventional gas boiler. All of the pumps, including the solar circulating pump, are modulating meaning the speed can be varied in order to optimise system efficiencies. All the controls for the solar are within the unit meaning that conventional heat sources are only used when solar can not meet demand.
